The cottage has an idyllic rural location next to a working livestock farm. As well as being close to The Brecon Beacons National Park in Carmarthenshire, the holiday cottage also has on its doorstep The Crychan Forest with many miles of walking and cycling trails. Fully equipped cycle hire delivered to the cottage is available by arrangement. The Crychan Forest has a rich diversity of mammals, insects and birds, including red kites, goshawks, sparrowhawks, buzzards, peregrine falcon, nightjar, goldcrest, siskin, willow warblers, wood warblers, song thrush and jay (for more details see this informative BBC article). For anglers, there is over seven miles of fishing on the rivers Towy, Bran and Gydderig. There is also riding and pony trekking available in the area.

The holiday cottage is only four miles from Llandovery, an ancient market town on the River Towy with post office, railway station, taxi, supermarket, internet, launderette, take-aways, shops, restaurants, pubs and indoor swimming pool. In 2006, Prince Charles established his home in Wales just two miles outside Llandovery at Myddfai. Other interesting market towns are Llandeilo (approximately 20 minutes), Brecon (30 minutes) and Lampeter (40 minutes).

From the cottage it is easy to reach both the South and West Wales Coasts with many beautiful beaches around an hour away. Nearby are the National Botanic Gardens, Llyn Brianne with a stunning lake and walks, Aberglasney Gardens with its beautifully restored gardens, Dinefwr Park and Carreg Cennen Castle. Drive times are Bristol (2hrs), Birmingham (3hrs), Manchester (4hrs), London (4hrs) (source multimap.co.uk).

Self catering holiday accommodation

Kitchen: Very well equipped new kitchen with an electric oven, microwave, slow cooker, steamer, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washing machine.
Dining area: There is comfortable seating for nine people around the long dining table with a HiFi with DAB radio. There is a candlelit semi-circular stone fireplace with bread oven and chimenea.
Sitting room: The sitting room is warm and comfortable with green and brown leather sofas and a featured stone fireplace with an attractive array of candles in a cast iron chimenea. A flat screen TV with free view and DVD and CD. There is a also a door to the downstairs shower-room and wc. (The downstairs bedroom also has access so the shower-room but can be securely locked off when necessary.)
Bedroom 1: Downstairs. A bedroom with a double bed and an en-suite shower room, suitable for visitors with walking difficulties.
Bedroom 2: A bedroom with a double bed;
Bedroom 3: A large bedroom with a double bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bath, whb and wc;
Bedroom 4: A bedroom with twin beds (2'6");
Bedroom 5: A bedroom with a single bed;
Bathroom: On the 1st floor is the 3rd bathroom with a bath with a shower over, whb and wc;
Outside: The entrance to the property has double gates to ample parking at the front and side and a large enclosed garden. There is a patio at the rear with garden furniture and a barbecue.
